Here is a fun bag, although it obviously has elements not made by me. As mentioned in "about me" I am sometimes using elements/items I have in my supply stash. I will use those up but purchase no more in the pursuit of ultimately making bags where every element is made by me.
The clasp is something I had in my supplies and it is a double clasp so there are 2 pockets, as seen in pictures. I only had one of this kind of clasp but have quite a few of ones that offer a single pocket so I will be making other clasp bags.
because I was using a clasp not made by me I also included the beads I did not make. They are ethnic wire wrapped and soldered metal beads that I love.
The bag, the strap, the embroidery thread and the thread to sew the bag were all spun/woven by me. The red linen was not dyed by me. I was gifted some commercially dyed flax that I spun (which turns it from "flax" to "linen"). the bag was dyed with yellow onion skins. Also inside, behind embroidery, is a linen scrap I had, commerciall spun and woven, it is also dyed with yellow onion skins.
the bag measures approx. 5 1/2 inches long by 4 inches wide. With tassels it is approx 8 1/2 inches long. These measurements do not include the ball clasp at top. The strap measures approx 52 inches long. It can be cut and knotted, or just knotted to become a belt bag as well.
NOTE: Natural dyes will fade over time, especially if constantly exposed to sunlight. The bag is hand washable in cool water and hang to dry.
